Region 2

1 Marysville (49) vs. 4 Toledo Whitmer (14) at Bellefontaine AcuSport Stadium

Marysville once again showed why it deserves to be rated one of if not the best team in all of Ohio as it defeated Whitmer by 35 points.

The Monarchs have now scored more than 40 points in each of their postseason matchups thus far.

While the defense gave up the most points it has since Marysville beat Hilliard Darby 21-14 in overtime, the offensive output made Whitmer's 14 points almost negligible.

What also made Marysville allowing just 14 points impressive is that Whitmer came into Friday averaging 38 points and had scored 42 points the prior week.

The Monarchs will now play No. 2 Springfield but have thus far shown few weaknesses or any suggestion that they could not move past this round  into the Final Four.

Region 3

Game of the Week: 1 Upper Arlington (41) vs. 4 New Albany (10) at Powell Olentangy Liberty Stadium

Upper Arlington had the entire game under control from the moment it scored four touchdowns in just the second quarter.

Led by five touchdowns by quarterback Simon Monnin, who threw three of those scores to receiver Sam Cannon, the Golden Bears' offense was unstoppable on Friday night.

New Albany was unable to get the run game going with lead running back Jadyn Garnes.

Garnes, who had 28 touchdowns coming into the game, was held scoreless on Friday, and the Eagles were unable to get anything else going on offense.

Upper Arlington will now play No. 2 Pickerington Central in the Regional Championship and hope for the same effectiveness on both sides of the ball.

2 Pickerington Central (27) vs. 6 Pickerington North (7) at Newark Paul “Hoss” Starr Stadium at White Field

The Tigers had their revenge on Friday night defeating their arch-rival Pickerington North by three possessions.

Pickerington Central had previously lost to the Panthers 13-10 during Week 4 of this season.  Yet, it showed how much progress it has made in the past nine weeks with this win.

The Tigers' offense was led by a pair of touchdowns by running back Tyler Gillison and a defense that had two takeaways.

Pickerington North surely would have loved to defeat its rival Pickerington Central, but the Panthers will nonetheless go home with their heads held high coming off of a successful regular season and a fairly deep run into the playoffs.

Pickerington Central now takes on undefeated Upper Arlington and its powerful offense that can both run and pass the ball effectively.
