Dublin Coffman's offense lines up against Olentangy Liberty during a game in the 2020 season.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- It's rivalry week in central Ohio football!

Here is a breakdown of Friday's five best rivalry matchups.

Pickerington Central @ Pickerington North

Where: Panther Field

When: Friday, 7:00 p.m.

Coming off a 31-6 loss last week against Marysville, the Panthers of Pickerington North will hope to bounce back at home.

It will not be easy for them, though, as the Panthers face their undefeated rivals the Pickerington Central Tigers.

The Tigers are once again putting together an impressive season defeating three competitive non-conference teams in the first three weeks in Massilon Washington, Cincinnati Elder, and North Allegheny from Pennsylvania.

Last year, Pickerington North lost this matchup 35-9 during Week 1 but would hope to perform better in this year's game.

The Panthers are lead by receiver and Penn State-commit  Kaden Saunders while the Tigers will rely on their many D-I college commits C.J. Doggette Jr. (DL), Kwabena Asamoah (OL), and Tyler Gibson (DL).

Dublin Jerome @ Dublin Coffman

Where: Coffman Stadium

When: Friday, 7:00 p.m.

Dublin Coffman comes into this game looking to break its three-game losing streak to start the 2021 season.

It should help the Shamrocks that they are playing in this rivalry game in front of a rowdy home crowd.

On the other end, Dublin Jerome comes into Friday 3-0 on the season and would hope to stay undefeated following this road game.

While it may seem as if Jerome has this game handled, the home Coffman crowd will surely try its best to pull off the upset on Friday night.

Last season, Jerome lost this matchup 41-6 but will look for revenge in this year's game.

Olentangy Berlin @ Olentangy Liberty

Where: Olentangy Patriot Stadium

When: Friday, 7:00 p.m.

The battle for the river's city will be decided on Friday night in front of crowd that should be substantial for both teams.

Both teams have successful programs with winning seasons in the past, yet Berlin's 3-0 record this season makes them the expected frontrunner in Friday's game.

Liberty has started the 2021 season 1-2, yet has had tough matchups such as a 49-0 loss last week against 2020 state champion St. Xavier.

In 2020, Liberty triumphed against Berlin 35-21 in Week 1, yet this year's teams have changed, and as have the circumstances.

With Liberty holding home-field advantage, it will be interesting to see how close this game could be come Friday night.

Olentangy Orange @ Olentangy

Where: Olentangy Braves Stadium

When: Friday, 7:00 p.m.

Across town from where Liberty will play Berlin, Olentangy faces off against its in-city rival Olentangy Orange.

Last time these teams met was two years ago when Orange won 28-14 on the road.

However, Orange started this season 0-3 but would like to improve this record with a win on Friday night.

Yet the same can be said for Olentangy who also has yet to win a game in the first three weeks this season.

It is safe to say that both teams will be hungry to get their first win while also defeating an in-city rival in the process.

Central Crossing @ Grove City

Where: Greyhound Football Stadium

When: Friday, 7:00 p.m.

The Comets of Central Crossing started this season 2-1 and come into this game off a win at home against Northland last Friday.

Grove City hosts the Comets in a matchup that they won last year.

With it being a rivalry, compiled with the Greyhounds' current 0-2 record, a win would mean a lot to both the team and the home crowd.

Last season Grove City won this matchup 7-6 in Week 1.

That gives the Comets cause for revenge as they come into the game as a favorite over the Greyhounds.
