We take another look at under the radar prospects in Central Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Welcome to week four of the 2021 high school football season ladies and gentlemen! Is it just me or is it moving insanely fast?! We have a bunch we are looking forward to covering this fall and this week we will be talking about some interesting prospects in the Central Ohio area.

Ishmael Spann-Bowers (ATH / Columbus East / 2022): Spann-Bowers is only 5’6 and 125 pounds but he is very athletic and mobile, able to lower his pad level and bounce off defenders left and right. The senior is a golden glove winner. He along with teammate, Ty Taylor (ATH / Columbus East / 2022) have been doing an amazing job for the Tigers as they both have been putting up video game numbers. If you're a D2 / NAIA college and haven't looked into these two you, really need to take the time out of your day and get ahold of these guys as East has a couple big time weapons in Spann-Bowers and Taylor.

Xavier Ferguson (WR/SS / Kipp Columbus / 2022): Ferguson is 6’ and 175 pounds for upstart 2-1 Kipp. I can see him being more impactful on the offense once he makes the jump into college though he will need to really hit the weight room and take the offseason seriously. If he does then his ceiling would be very high! Its due to athletes like Ferguson that Kipp has become a legitimate lower division power on the north side of Columbus.

David Adolph (WR / Dublin Jerome / 2022): Adolph is a whooping 6’5 and 190 pounds. He has the ability to make any team who is playing off him regret that decision because he can catch a quick screen and be in the end zone in no time. He has  an offer from Dayton but if you are a powerhouse FCS or D2 this could be a gem you can scoop up and it really pay off. He's been really going off these last three weeks, as he has really developed since last season.

Christian Takatch (DL / Big Walnut / 2022): Takatch has been on a rampage these last three weeks and after his performance this past Friday, he left me no choice but to talk about him. Takatch was going to be brought up sooner or later, as he is 6’3 and 230 pounds and is much more athletic than your average interior defensive linemen. I'm not sure who he trains with but he is much faster than most centers or guards he has played, and shows he is able to secure many TFL and forced turnovers with ease. College coaches, there is no reason you are not calling him and offering him! The film shows it all, there is nothing more that really needs to be said other than he is a leader for 3-0 Big Walnut.

Tyler Buescher (QB / West Jefferson / 2022): Buescher has such a smooth soft touch on the ball. The senior quarterback stands about 5’11 but he moves amazingly throughout the pocket and if it breaks down he is able to dump it off to his running back, or he can throw a dot on the run to an open receiver always keeping his eyes down the field. Buescher is the type of dynamic quarterback that can really energize an entire team and he is doing that for 3-0 West Jeff.

Emmanuel Teah Jr. (OLB / Hilliard Bradley / 2023): Teah, only a junior, is a very athletic 6’1 and 210 pounds. He can go up and high point a ball at the highest point just like colleges want. He is also very twitchy and capable of playing other positions on the field. Teah has had an exceptional beginning to his junior season as he is playing a huge role for the Jaguars defense. Bradley is well known for producing some very highly rated defensive players in the past years and Teah looks to be the next part of that bunch.

Braden Mantooth (QB / Pickerington Central / 2023): Mantooth is the head hauncho for the Tigers this fall on the offensive side as he is the play caller, and gun slinger. He can read defenses very well and that helps a bunch as the Tigers run a true spread offense. He stands at 6’5 and 180 pounds which is ginormous for a high school quarterback. When you watch his film you can see him progressing through his reads like a pro which takes a long time to become good at. Some college kids still struggle with this but being so good at that means he has a very high IQ for his age and his position. No reason a college has not offered him yet as he comes in leading the Tigers to 3-0 against some very respectable opponents.

Tayvion Galloway (DE/TE/WR / Unioto / 2024): Galloway is only a sophomore but he stands at an insane 6’6 215 pounds and he is the guy around chillicothe right now as he had been offered his first D1 offer from the University at Buffalo last week. He is the first kid to be offered in Ross county as a sophomore in history which is kind of a big deal. He is explosive off the ball, he is kind of raw but that comes with his age. He is also a pretty good basketball player as well. He has a very high potential to blow up on the power 5 level soon.

Brian Ruthledge (WR / Grove City / 2022): Ruthledge is athletic and has some good hands at 5’11 and 170 pounds. The senior is a very good route runner and he should be able to earn a scholarship from a D2 or NAIA level program. Potentially, he is a PWO kid at the D1 level if i'm being honest. Rutledge will be a big part of what could be the Greyhounds’ first win of the season against rival Central Crossing on Friday.
