COLUMBUS, Ohio -- This weekend was once again jam-packed with football from Division I to Division VII.

For central Ohio, the Regional Finals proved to be littered with success for all but two of the eight teams.

There were high and low scores, an overtime battle, upsets, and much more as teams vied for a chance at a spot in the State Final Four.

Here are the results from all the central Ohio games in this weekend's Regional Finals.

Region 2

1 Marysville (0) vs. 2 Springfield (26) at Hilliard Darby Stadium

Yes, this score is absolutely real.

No. 1 Marysville - a team that has not allowed more than 14 points this year - was dominated by No. 2 Springfield, ending its season sooner than many thought.

The Monarchs were also held to less than 20 points on Friday which is the first time that has occurred all season.

Marysville was also held scoreless for the first time since the 2019 season when they lost 21-0 to none other than the Springfield Wildcats.

The Monarchs will lose star linebacker Gabe Powers as he moves on to play for Ohio State, yet there should still be a core of players, such as running back Griffin Johnson, coach Brent Johnson can work with going into next season.

Region 3

Game of the Week: 1 Upper Arlington (21) vs. 2 Pickerington Central (14) at Westerville Central Warhawk Field

No. 1 Upper Arlington held on to its undefeated season in a triple-overtime thriller against No. 2 Pickerington Central.

The Bears' win was led by three touchdown passes from quarterback Simon Monnin who now has eight touchdowns in his last two games.

Running back Tyler Gillison provided the Tigers with a score and 93 yards rushing while also intercepting a pass from Monnin in the third quarter.

Upper Arlington is now 14-0 and will move on to play St. Edward in the Final Four for a chance at the State Championship.

Pickerington Central will now move into the offseason.  It loses players like Gillison, offensive tackle Kwabena Asamoah, and defensive tackle C.J. Doggette to graduation but will hope to continue being a central Ohio powerhouse with the players it retains and brings up.

Region 11

1 Granville (57) vs. 6 Mount Orab Western Brown (49) at Ashville Teays Valley Viking Stadium

In a flip from its 15-14 win against London in the Regional Semifinals, No. 1 Granville put on an offensive show Friday night scoring double-digit points in every quarter on its way to an 8-point victory.

Coming into the game, No. 6 Western Brown's offense averaged 50 points per game, so it was clear the Blue Aces needed to either curb that or match it to win.

Granville chose the latter and running back Devon Haley proceeded to score an unbelievable six touchdowns on 284 yards rushing.

Blue Aces quarterback Tyler Ernsberger would also add two passing touchdowns of his own to put his team over Western Brown.

Granville will now play Badin for a chance to stay undefeated and to reach the Division III State Championship.

Region 15

1 Bloom Carroll (14) vs. 2 St. Clairsville (3) at Zanesville Sulsberger Stadium

Although the No. 1 Bulldogs led for the entire game, No. 2 St. Clairsville held them to their lowest score all season and they gave up two turnovers.

It would be Bloom Carroll's defense, though, that would make the difference holding the Red Devils to just three points and forcing three interceptions in the win.

Bulldogs running back Chase Plantz led his team with two touchdowns on 77 yards rushing.

Bloom Carroll will need to curb the turnovers as well as penalties in the next round as it would have nine flags thrown for them for 75 yards.

The 14-0 Bulldogs now move on to play Clinton-Massie in the State Final Four and will hope to stay undefeated on their way to the Division IV State Championship.

Region 19

2 Harvest Prep (20) vs. 5 Wheelersburg (17) at Waverly Raidiger Field

No. 2 Harvest Prep punched its ticket to the State Final Four defeating No. 5 Wheelersburg by a mere three points.

The Warriors were behind 17-7 at the half but battled back in the second half with two touchdowns to secure the victory.

Harvest Prep running back was once again a force for the team rushing for 192 yards topped off with two touchdowns including a 40-yard sprint to give his team the lead in the fourth quarter.

The Warriors will now play Versailles in the Division V Final Four next Saturday night.

Although the Harvest Prep won, its 11 penalties for 75 yards will need to be curbed before it plays in the Final Four next week.

Region 23

1 Beverly Fort Frye (14) vs. 3 West Jefferson (16) at Logan Chieftain Stadium

After pulling off the upset against No. 2 Fairland in the Regional Semifinals, West Jefferson once again showed why they deserve a Final Four spot defeating No. 1 Fort Frye.

The Roughriders win was secured by a 27-yard field goal by kicker Mason Cordetti with just over nine minutes left in the game.

After scoring five touchdowns in the previous two games, West Jefferson running back Hayden Salyer was held to just 14 yards rushing.

The Roughriders relied heavily on quarterback Tyler Buescher who delivered throwing for 330 yards and a touchdown.

West Jefferson will now play Coldwater in the Division VI Final Four looking for a chance at the State Championship.

Region 27

1 Newark Catholic (35) vs. 3 Shadyside (20) at New Philadelphia Woody Hayes Quaker Stadium

No. 1 Newark Catholic defeated  No. 3 Shadyside 35-20 to secure a spot in the State Final Four.

The Green Wave was losing 20-14 at halftime but came back in the second half with four touchdowns to ensure their two-possession victory.

Quarterback Cole Canter led Newark Catholic with 4 touchdowns on 210 yards passing. He threw only one interception.

The Green Wave's defense also forced three turnovers including three interceptions by three different players.

Newark Catholic will now play John F. Kennedy Catholic next week for a chance at a spot in the State Championship.
