Spotlighting a handful of athletes who signed their NLI on Wednesday

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Hello ladies and gentlemen! I want to give you guys an early signing day recap to keep everyone informed and up to date on football recruiting in the Central Ohio area.

There were a handful of athletes from multiple schools who finalized the next step in their career on Wednesday, so let's take a look at some of them below.

The first school we will be talking about is going to be Pickerington Central. They had four young men sign their National Letter of Intent (NLI) yesterday.

CJ Doggette, who is a very incredible pass rusher and is capable of causing fear in opposing quarterbacks, signed with The University of Cincinnati along with Tyler Gillison, who is a very physical and athletic pass rusher. These are two of Central Ohio’s best defensive linemen.

Doggette and Gillison are followed up by Dakari Frazier, who signed with Ball State. He is a very intriguing pass rusher who has very well rounded hands and size to do great things in the MAC. I can most certainly see him getting into the rotation in year one or two.

Then Kwabena Asamoah signed with Rutgers University from home as he and his family were flying later in the day to Ghana to get back to his roots before making the transition to the next level.

Lastly Alex Styles, who recently reclassified from the 2023 to the 2022 graduation class, signed with The Ohio State University. Alex poses as a hard hitting, twitchy, and scary fast safety who is bigger than most in college football.

The next high school that held a signing day was Marysville High School who had two young men sign their NLI here in the early signing period.

Gavin Rohrs signed with Miami University (OH) and he is very much a great fit for that program. I think this was a great decision for him and he has definitely earned it as he dominated his high school career.

Gabe Powers signed with The Ohio State University and this has been set in stone for awhile now but is officially finalized and he will be ready to go in and fight for a starting spot when he moves on campus in January as he is an early enrollee for the buckeyes.

DeSales held a ceremony for Jonathan Thompson who also signed with The University of Cincinnati. This is a solid fit and with tons of potential I know he will have a great college career and make his family proud.

Olentangy Liberty had two young men sign yesterday.

Carter Smith signed with Indiana University and made it official after a crazy amount of offers were brought forth through his junior and senior years.

Dylan Graber signed with Ball State University and he was in fact the first commitment for their 2022 class so that's a huge get for them as he helped in major ways to build their class that they had signed yesterday.

Westerville South, which is home to the best wideout in the state of Ohio, hosted Kaden Saunders and family to their home gym and sent him off on a high note as he will be an early enrollee for Penn State.

At Olentangy Orange, Jordan Rudolph signed his NLI to Youngstown State University yesterday, which is a very big grab for the Penguins as he is one of very few high school recruits they are taking this year.

Canal Winchester is the stomping grounds for Stephan Byrd, who signed to the University of Cincinnati as well and he was the best running back in the state of Ohio as he racked in a bunch of offers throughout his high school career.

Olentangy Berlin had Jonathan Harder, who signed with the University of Cincinnati yesterday and made things official after a dominant senior season with the Bears.

Hilliard Bradley had Mitchell Robinson who was able to sign his NLI to Robert Morris University which is a great addition for RMU as he is a force to be messed with at LB.

Pickerington North held Eli Coppess and family as Eli was able to sign his NLI to play for Miami University (OH) as well and this is a very big steal for the Redhawks as this young man poses as a power five kid all day, his athleticism and work ethic is through the roof.

Eastmoor Academy is home to Jalen Slappy, who officially signed his NLI at HOPE Fitness Academy last night to attend Marshall University, where he originally planned to enroll early but has decided to enjoy the remainder of his high school time at Eastmoor.

At Harvest Prep, Jaylen Jennings signed his NLI to attend Bowling Green State University which is huge as he had Big Ten offers and Conference USA offers as well. He also had a great senior year where he helped lead his team to the final four.
